Dirigentløftet teams up with Nordic Wind Festival in a Wind Band Journey through prolific pieces and hidden gems. All with a practical view on how to inspire and develop your ensembles with the music at hand.
Sessions are open for all conductors with a passion for wind music. You sign up for the whole journey, with the possibility to get recordings.

Bjørn Breistein studied euphonium and music pedagogics at the Grieg Academy in Bergen. As a conductor Bjørn has worked with most of Norways leading wind- and brassbands. Since 2010, he has guest conducted National Youth Wind Orchestra, South Africa. Bjørn is the musical director of Trøndelag Youth Wind Orchestra, and the University Symphony Orchestra, Bergen. As a condicting teacher, Bjørn is head of the Young Conductor-programme at Voss Cultural School, the first of its kind in Norway, teaches conducting at Musikhögskolan Ingesund, Sweden, and works with programmes for the Norwegian Band Federation.
Andreas Hanson is chief conductor of the Royal Swedish Army Band and a frequent guest of all the major Swedish Orchestras and Operas. As a recording artist, he has recorded nearly 20 records for international labels. With a musical upbringing in the brass band movement and after decades as chief conductor in national wind ensembles, he is at home with the cornerstones of symphonic wind music and wind band music. Andreas has been associate professor in conducting for over a decade at The Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm, and is currently working on different programs for conductors at all levels.
