Opptakt - the career launch program


Opptakt - our premier Elite program for orchestral conductors. A career launch program where one prize winner, selected every two years, receives concert engagements with all of the professional orchestras of Norway, as well as an extensive mentoring and PR-package. Participating orchestras are: Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, Trondheim Symphony Orchestra, Norwegian Radio Orchestra, The Norwegian Opera and Ballet, Arctic Philharmonic Orchestra, Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra. Age limit at application is 35 years. Open to Norwegians and residents in Norway.

Dirigentforum Orchestra

Dirigentforum Orchestra - elite masterclass program for orchestral conductors where we invite leading Norwegian and international mentors. Mentors/instructors include: Jorma Panula, Edward Gardner, Sakari Oramo, Peter Eötvös, Matthew Halls, James Gaffigan, Hannu Lintu, Keri-Lynn Wilson, Sascha Goetzel, Johannes Schlaefli, Nicolás Pasquet, Mark Stringer, Clark Rundell, Eivind Aadland, Peter Szilvay, Anna-Maria Helsing, Christian Ehwald, Johannes Gustavsson, and more. Our own professional hired orchestra “Orkester Ø” and the professional symphony orchestras in Norway contribute. Age limit at application is 30 years. Open to Norwegians and residents in Norway.

Assistant conductor program

Dirigentløftet collaborates all of Norway’s leading ensembles and we support up to six assistant conductor positions; four among the professional symphony orchestras, one among the professional wind bands, and one among choirs. Open to Norwegians and residents in Norway.

Unge Dirigenter Barratt Due

National masterclass for young conductors ‘Unge Dirigenter Barratt Due’ - age group 13-21. Main tutors: Eivind Aadland and Alf Årdal. Orchestra consisting of advanced music students with some professionals.
