An elite program for choral conductors.
Dirigentiforum Kor is a master class program for young talented choir conductors. The conductors receive guidance from outstanding international mentors and instructors and get practice opportunities with professional choirs, such as the Norwegian Soloists' Choir, Kilden Vocal Ensemble, the opera choir at The Norwegian Opera and Radiokören in Stockholm. The Conductor's Forum Choir has been the guest of mentors such as Yuval Weinberg, Nils Schweckendiek, Nigel Short, Mathieu Romano, Kaspars Putniņš and Martina Batic.
The participants in Dirigentforum Choir get access to coaching through Talent Norway. They receive professional photographs and can take part in various industry courses together with the other participants in Dirigentforum.
It is the Professional Council in Dirigentløftet that selects the participants in Dirigentforum (after trial conducting) and determines the repertoire and mentors/instructors. The participants in Dirigentforum Choir are selected based on their artistic, musical and conducting abilities. There is no requirement for formal education. The upper age limit for application is 35. The program has approx. eight places and entrance exams are held annually. You are admitted for a period of two years, and you can normally have up to two periods. Applicants must submit an application with a CV, letter of motivation and a video recording of their own conducting. Current candidates are invited to test conducting. Announcements of auditions are announced at dirigentloftet.no
